Couple Sue Hospital After Daughter Has Hand And Feet Amputated

A California couple have filed a lawsuit against a hospital and staff after their 2-year-old daughter waited five hours in the emergency room to receive treatment for a streptococcal infection, that forced doctors to amputate a hand and both of her feet. 

According to Fox news, Malyia Jeffers was originally taken to the Methodist Hospital in Sacramento in November where she waited for several hours with what doctors thought was just a fever. 

But her condition quickly deteriorated, and she eventually went into liver failure before undergoing the amputation.
